Barnstormers Announce Free Agent Camp
AF1 Team Schedules Open Tryouts For February 6, 2010

DES MOINES – The Iowa Barnstormers announced today that the club will be hold their 3rd    annual free agent camp and open try-out on Saturday, February 6 at Veteran’s Memorial Auditorium in downtown Des Moines. The try-out is open to any athlete age 18 and over interested in playing for the Iowa Barnstormers during the 2010 AF1 season.

The try-out is open to any athlete age 18 and over interested in playing for the Iowa Barnstormers during the 2010 af1 season.The free agent camp will be under the direction of Barnstormers Head Coach John Gregory and his staff. Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. with the camp starting promptly at 9:00a.m. The camp is open to all position players.


“I am always impressed with the quality of players that show up at our camp,” said Gregory, who noted that current Barnstormer wide receiver Dusty Kain was a product of the Barnstormers 2008 free agent camp. Last season, the Barnstormers signed defensive backs Jordan Davis and Vonzell Pittman to contracts following good performances at the 2009 camp.    Coach Gregory went on to say, “I encourage any athlete who believes they have what it takes to be a professional football player to participate and give it their best shot.”


Team officials noted this will be Barnstormers only local free agent camp prior to the 2010 season and that the coaching staff anticipates extending a number of invitations to the official Iowa Barnstormers Pre-Season Training Camp, which is currently slated to begin in March.
