ORLANDO – The Orlando Predators are proud to announce the signing of one of the best players in recent Arena Football history, two-time AFL Lineman of the Year, Colston Weatherington. “I’m so excited to be going to Orlando,” said Weatherington. “It’s such a great things city, and especially the fans. The barbeques the Predators’ fan club puts together are legendary.”
“I loved playing in Dallas, but it is time for me to take the next step in my career. If I’m missing one thing my career it’s a ring. With the team Pat O’Hara is putting together, I know I’ve got a great chance at reaching that goal.”

His presence adds to the rich tradition of the great pass rushers that have come through our organization” said Predators’ head coach Pat O’Hara. “His abilities as a pass rusher are some of the best the league has ever seen. Adding Colston to our defense makes us a force to be reckoned with in 2010.”
Since his Arena career began in 2004, Weatherington has been piling up sacks and awards. In his rookie season with the Dallas Desperados, he led the team with 5.5 sacks and five blocked kicks. He was also named to the 2004 AFL All-Rookie Team. In 2006, Weatherington became the Desperados all-time sacks leader after posting a then career-high 7.5 sacks. For his outstanding play, he was named the 2006 AFL Lineman of the Year and earned his first All-Arena honors. After another career year in 2007, 2008 proved to the best yet for Weatherington. His 10.5 sacks further cemented his place as the Desperados’ all-time leader and made him only the second player ever to win AFL Lineman of the Year for a second time. He was also named to the All-AFL First Team for the third straight season.
